Can I put a static caravan in my garden?

Usually yes, without planning permission, if the caravan sits within the garden of your house and is used as part of the household: a spare room, an office, a space for a relative who shares your home. You need planning permission if it becomes a separate dwelling, is let out, or the land is not part of the garden. It must also meet the legal definition of a caravan, and getting a 12 ft wide unit into a back garden is often the hardest part.
